Sugar, Shenanigans and Shindigs

jamiejamison:

Last night Jessica and I went to Houston to see Hellogoodbye and Gold Motel. It was so much fun, despite a pretty annoying crowd. HGB’s between-song (and  even during-song) banter cracks me up so much. They played most of Would It Kill You? plus Shimmy Shimmy Quarter Turn, Baby It’s Fact, and Here in Your Arms. I think SSQT was the first song of theirs I heard so it was super fun to see that live. Baby It’s Fact included a sweet guitar solo and a really long and drawn out ending that was awesome.

This person recorded that song except for the verrrrry end where they did this very slow jazzy thing to end the song. It was so cool. During the last song before the encore, confetti shot out everywhere. How special. I just wish they’d had a longer set. We chatted it up with Gold Motel afterward. Why is Greta Salpeter so cool? I wish I had her hair. They put on a great show too. I just started listening to their album a couple of weeks ago. Love it.
We had to drive back that night because 1) We’re too broke to stay anywhere and 2) I had dance rehearsal this morning. We drank some 5 hour energy and started the Britney/BSB/NSYNC/Mandy Moore playlist I made. It also included Total Eclipse of the Heart, Come On Eileen, Thanklin Franklin and Hot Stuff. Our throats hurt so bad from singing. We got to my house at 3 AM. I barely got any sleep but I ended up being fine for rehearsal, whiiiiiich was awesome by the way. The concert is going to be SO. COOL. I don’t wanna give too much away. Y’all just have to come see it. So excited!

So we kind of started out strong and then trickled out really fast…here’s what we’ve been up to.
I made some mint chocolate fudge that turned out deliciously. Like an Andes mint, but better.
We’ve added two new cookies to our…cookies. Jessica has made hazelnut chocolate chip and I’ve made white chocolate macadamia nut. Both are simply supreme.
We got our first baking job! We baked 60 s’mores cookies for a girl we work with. Mmm, money.
I went to California with my friend Linsday at the end of December. She lives there and I stayed with her for a few days. It was a blast. A bit of sugar shenanigans there too, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN! (What?)
Our friend Kaley had a shindig last week. She just got a Kinect so we had a dance party. Jessica and I were successful in getting most everyone to dress in 80’s-esque attire. Check out our awesome group photos (including ones where we made a three-tiered pyramid) here.
Upcoming shenanigans:
Jessica and I are going to see Hellogoodbye and Gold Motel in Houston next week. I’m trying to get to a normal person’s level of hydration by then.
Jessica has joined me on the speech team, and we’re doing a duo scene. Should be fuuuun! Many shenanigans to come.
We are going to be the Official Baked Goods Providers for Speech on the Beach, which means we’ll be making upwards of 200 or so cookies. Woohoo!!!

Backstory: Del Mar is hosting a speech tournament and I designated Jessica and I the Official Baked Goods Providers.

Me: So we’ll bake 2 batches of s’mores, 2 batches of chocolate chip and 3 oatmeal raisin?
Jessica: Okay. And what about for Sunday?
Me: …Oh.

Me: If we’re not…

Why would anyone take us serious?

We haven’t posted anything in a while so I’m changin that. This is how decided to dress at work on Christmas Eve and Christmas. Customers took us seriously.

P.S. Jamie captured my picture mid-rap. Also if anyone has any fun pictures in their tacky/ugly sweaters from this past holiday season, photo reply with them!

Happy holidays from your good friends at Sugar, Shenanigans and Shindigs.

When Jessica and I bake cookies together, she mixes the wet ingredients and I mix the dry ingredients. When we bake s’mores cookies, she deals with the marshmallows  and I deal with the Hershey’s pieces. That’s just how we roll.

Here’s the video of what was going on during that second column of photos. Pretty fun times!

We took a spontaneous trip to San Antonio, Texas for some shoppin’ fun. There is video of how we obtained the middle column of photos which is pretty funny. Jamie will probably post it later for shits and giggles.

Most gals dress like sluts and parade around on Halloween. We saw Evil Dead The Musical, and got drenched in cocoa blood.
